We operate to high welfare standards, with strict protocols, on well-invested farms to produce a consistent, tasty product for our customers. We recognise that as responsible farmers we need to strive to reduce our environmental impact, as well as use precious resources, such as antibiotics, sparingly.
Our Farming Process
We work with farmers who share our values, have well-invested farms, and who work with us on a long term contractual basis. We review costs regularly, as well as protocols, to ensure everyone gets a fair return.
Our Cattle
We buy our cattle direct from partnership dairy farms. They use our bespoke genetics to ensure we have a calf which is born easily, and is well suited to our production system.
They are taken directly to our calf rearing units, where we operate strict veterinary protocols to ensure they have a healthy start. We use a comprehensive vaccination programme, and never use prophylactic antibiotics.
The calves are fed a very high quality milk replacer and are slowly transitioned to a cereal and forage diet as they are weaned. We have built state of the art facilities to ensure optimum temperatures and ventilation levels are maintained.
Once they are fully weaned and thriving they are transferred to our grow-out farms where they are grown until they are ready for slaughter.
